I think this is a wonderful product to start of with. I love that it changes to many, many different colors. It is easy to hook this up and get it started. What you do is take off the top and use the filler cup that is in it. And put as much water as you see fit. Also you can add your oils in with the water. And then plug it in and press the power button and the button beside it to pick a color for you. With it filled up mine ran about 4 hours before I had to add more water. This is a very well made product and I recommend it.
